When you visit an urgent care clinic, we collect your insurance information at check-in and verify your coverage whenever possible. After your visit, our medical team documents the services provided, including the evaluation, treatment, procedures, tests, and any medications administered.

These services are translated into standardized medical billing codes. The claim is then submitted electronically to your insurance company for processing. Your insurance company reviews the claim based on your specific health plan benefits, deductible, copay, coinsurance, and coverage rules.

Depending on your plan, you may be responsible for certain out-of-pocket costs. Common patient responsibilities include:

• Copay: A fixed amount due at the time of service.
• Deductible: The amount you must pay before insurance begins covering certain services.
• Coinsurance: A percentage of the cost that you share with your insurance company after your deductible is met.

Once the insurance company processes the claim, they send both you and the clinic an Explanation of Benefits (EOB). An EOB is not a bill—it is a summary explaining what services were covered, how much the insurance company paid, and any remaining balance that may be your responsibility.
